Training Requirements
In addition to meeting eligibility requirements, you must also complete a training course before applying for an LTC. This course must be approved by the state and cover topics such as gun safety, storage, and laws related to carrying a concealed handgun. The amount of training required varies by state, but most courses last at least 4-6 hours. Texas and some other states also require a shooting proficiency test.
